Welcome to the official website for the Reimagining Further Education Conferences. The next conference will be held on 27 June, 2018 at Birmingham City University. Tickets will be made available at the end of January 2018.
Ten years since the publication of Frank Coffield’s seminal work “Just suppose teaching and learning were the first priority,” this reprioritisation of teaching and learning will be the thematic platform for the 2018 conference. Frank will deliver the opening keynote address and stimulate our thinking to reconceptualise how education provisional can be organised with teaching and learning at its heart. Click here for more information on the conference.
Having eschewed stand and deliver presentations, in 2018 the conference organisation continues to evolve into stronger working groups with clear structure and publishing remit. Rather than extending invitations to chairs and discussants, we invite members of the academic, research and FE community to put themselves forward to lead a group on a theme which you believe is vital. Some of themes we find interesting are: Leadership; Professional Learning (to include ITE and CPD); Apprenticeships and WBL; Research and Scholarly activity; HE in FE; Student experience; Widening Participation; Adult and Community Learning. Lastly, reports from the 2016 conference groups can be found under the menu above. More information on the Transforming Lives Further Education Project which provided the theme for the 2017 conference can be found at http://transforminglives.web.ucu.org.uk/
